     John Henry Cummins was born circa 1830 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.³ He married Martha Hynes, daughter of Judah Hynes and Elizabeth Jones, in 1857 at Nottinghamshire, England; and their marriage was registered in the March quarter 1857 at Nottingham Registration district.^2,1 John Henry Cummins was listed in Wright's Nottingham Directory, 1858 as:

     'Cummins John Henry, botanic depôt, St Peter's square.⁴'

He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at 1 Peter Gate, St Peter, Castle, Nottinghamshire, England, as Head of family, married, age 29, birthplace Nottingham, and he was a Medical Botanist. A House Servant completed the household.³ He was listed in Wright's Nottingham Directory, 1862 as:

     Walter Miller Cummins was born in 1862 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England; and his birth was registered in the March quarter 1862 at Nottingham Registration district.^1,3 He was the son of John Henry Cummins and Martha Hynes.¹ Walter Miller Cummins appeared on the census of 7 April 1871 at 9 Peters Square, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, as Son, age 9, birthplace Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and he was a Scholar.¹ He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 1 Mansfield Grove, Nottingham St Mary, Nottinghamshire, England, as Lodger, unmarried, age 19, birthplace Nottingham, and he worked in a Lace Warehouse.⁴ He died on 20 May 1911 at Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States of America.^5,6 His estate was probated on 17 July 1912; at Kings County Surrogate's Court, New York, United States of America, and appears in the New York, Wills and Probate Records. After a notice was published in The Brooklyn Citizen and The Brooklyn Daily Eagle for six successive weeks and several beneficiaries, were traced in England including his cousin John W. Cummins of Nottingham, England. His cousin Stephen (Henry) Doble was amongst those mentioned in the will.⁷ His estate was probated on 20 November 1912; and the National Probate Calendar of England and Wales for 1912 reads that 'Administration (with Will limited)' was granted to 'Harry Forrest solicitor's clerk the attorney of Norma Mann spinster.^6,5,7'

     Alfred Crane was born circa 1887. He married Gertrude Florence Slyfield, daughter of Adam Slyfield and Rhoda Goddard, in 1938 at Berkshire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Wokingham registration office in the September quarter 1938.¹

      Her married name was Green.² Margaret Catherine Slyfield was born on 18 August 1907 at Berkshire, England; and her birth was recorded at Easthampstead registration office in the September quarter 1907.^1,3,4 She was the daughter of Henry Slyfield and Helen Esther Sime.¹ Margaret Catherine Slyfield appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 20 Broadmoor, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England, as daughter, age 3, birthplace Crowthorn, Berkshire.¹ She married Henry Green in 1945 at Berkshire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Windsor registration office in the June quarter 1945.² Margaret Catherine Slyfield died in July 2001 at Berkshire, England, at age 93; and her death was recorded at Slough registration office in July 2001.⁴

      Her married name was Burchett.¹ Isabel Mary Law was born in 1887 at Bisley, Gloucestershire, England; and her birth was recorded at Stroud registration office in the March quarter 1887.^2,3 She married George Taylor Burchett, son of William Burchett and Mary Ann Taylor, on 2 February 1909 at Beverton, Gloucestershire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Tetbury registration office in the March quarter 1909.^1,4 Isabel Mary Law appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 2 Woodland Gardens, Boulton Gardens, Dursley, Gloucestershire, England, as wife, age 24, birthplace Bisley, Gloucestershire.² She died in 1944 at Gloucestershire, England; and her death was recorded at Stroud registration office in the DEcember quarter 1944.⁵
