     William Hamilton Bowie was born on 20 June 1906 at Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of John Bowie and Agnes Hamilton.1 William Hamilton Bowie emigrated in July 1920 from Scotland; to Australia with his family.1 He is recalled by his Nephew in his Autobiography as follows: 'was the only boy in the family. He married Alice Boyce and they lived all their married life at 44 Ferndale Rd. Glen Iris. Bill was a compositor i.e. he arranged the print, one letter at a time, until the page was made up and it went to the printer. Bill was also an accomplished singer and was a soloist at the Scots Church in Collins St. He was a good handyman making furniture, radios and repairing all sorts of household goods...2' He married Alice Maud Boyce on 15 April 1933 at Victoria, Australia; and their marriage was recorded in Victoria.1,2,3 William Hamilton Bowie and Alice Maud Boyce lived between 1936 and 1968 at Victoria, Australia; and they were listed on the Australian Electoral Roll together with their son John Hamilton Bowie in 1963.4 William Hamilton Bowie died on 9 January 1972 at Parkville, Victoria, Australia, at age 65.5,6,7,8 He was the subject of an obituary for William Hamilton Bowie (Bill) in The Age (Melbourne) on 10th and 11th January 1972, and he 'died at Royal Melbourne Hospital.8' He was cremated at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.9 His estate was probated; and The Public Record Office Victoria contains details which record him as a Printer of Glen Iris.6

      John Henry Arundel also went by the name of Jack Arundel.3 He was born on 18 January 1925 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.1,4 He was the son of Patrick William Arundel and Margaret Vannert Hamilton Bowie.1 John Henry Arundel was an elector in 1949 and 1954 where he was a chemist at 27 Reed Street, Spotswood, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.5 He married Margaret Ellen Fitzgerald on 14 February 1953 at New South Wales, Australia; and their marriage was registered in the District of Five Dock, 'a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney.1,2,6,7' John Henry Arundel was described by Alan Muggridge as follows: 'John (“Jack”) Arundel lectured in veterinary science at the University of Melbourne for many years prior to his retirement.1' He and Margaret Ellen Fitzgerald lived in 1980 at Illawarra Road, Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia; where they appeared on the Electoral Roll with their children Brian Gerard, Helen Patricia and Peter John Arundel.8

John Henry Arundel was awarded the Gilruth Prize by The Australian Veterinary Association 'for his distinguished contribution to veterinary science in Australia' as reported in the Australian Veterinary Journal October 1967.4 He was made a Member (AM) in the General Dividion in the Australia Day 2002 Honours announced in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette by The Governor-General:-

'Dr John Henry ARUNDEL. 59 iliawarra Road, Hawthorn Vic 3122. For service to veterinary science as an educator and researcher, and to the profession through participation in the Australian Veterinary Association' on 26 January 2002.9 He was in touch with Alan Muggridge on 21 March 2009, who says that he 'has written a very good account of his Arundels.3'
