His Wife and one Son completed the household.4 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at Hornchurch, Essex, England, as Head, married, age 38, birthplace Essex, and he was a Farm Bailiff.8 He died on 26 May 1877 at The King's Head, Brentwood, Essex, England, at age 45; and his death was recorded at Billericay Registration district in the June quarter 1877.9,10 His estate was probated on 27 July 1877; and he was described as 'formerly of Busbridge Farm Godalming in the county of Surrey but late of the "King's Head" Inn Brentwood in the county of Essex'. His will 'was proved by Sarah White Nokes of the "King's Head" Widow the Relict and Thomas Rayment of Hornchurch in the county of Essex Wheelwright the Executors.10'
