     Arthur Robert Batchelor was born on 25 January 1877 at London, England; and his birth was recorded at Mile End Registration district in the March quarter 1877.2,3,1 He was the Son of John Batchelor, a deceased Brass Finisher at the time his Son married, and Esther Matilda Emons.4,5 He was married in the September quarter 1896 to Elizabeth Burden (1875-1905) and this was recorded at Poplar Registration district on 3 August 1896 at St Paul, Old Ford, London, England.6,7,8 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 9 Redvers Street, Shoreditch, London, England, as Arthur Bachelor, Head, married, age 25, birthplace Stepney, and he was a Carman. His wife Elizabeth, age 25, daughter Ellen, age 2, and son John, age 11 months, completed the household.9,10,11

He married Jessie May Ager, daughter of Samuel Ager and Clara Rosina Harvey, on 29 August 1909 at St Augustine, Hackney, London, England; and their marriage was recorded at Hackney Registration district in the September quarter 1909. The marriage took place after Banns had been called. He was a 32 year old widower and Carman, and she was a 26 year old widow. The address given for both was 342 Wick Road and their witnesses were John Henry Stokes and Agnes Mary Batchelor.12,4 Arthur Robert Batchelor appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 3 Trehurst Street, Homerton, London, England, as Head, married, age 35, birthplace Stepney, and he was a Carman. His second wife, four children: Arthur John, Fred, Jessie May Sansom his Stepdaughter, and Grace Rose, plus his visiting second wife's mother/mother-in-law Clara Rose Ager completed the household.13,14 He and Jessie May Ager lived on 29 September 1939 at London, England; where they were on the 1939 Register in the Greenwich area.15 Arthur Robert Batchelor died on 23 November 1939 at Kent, England, at age 62; and his death was recorded at Greenwich Registration district in the December quarter 1939. It was also recorded in Greenwich Parish Register.16,17 He was buried on 28 November 1939 at Charlton Cemetery, Charlton, London, England.18
