Here are some of the families I am researching. More detailed information can be found on each family by selecting it's html link.

  • My McMillan ancestors, are originally from Islay, a small island off the west coast of Scotland. The McMillan's came to Canada to settle in Grey County Ontario around 1852.
  • The Camerons are originally from Islay, I'm trying to establish if they also came to Ontario.
  • The McDougalls are another Islay family I am tracing.
  • The Kerr and Baker families. Islay, Scotland.
  • My first set of Munros: The David Munro family, were United Empire Loyalists who settled in Ontario after the American Revolution. Previously they had lived in New York State, having emmigrated from Scotland.
  • The second Munro family that I descend from, Hugh Munro, were also UEL, and are from the same part of Scotland as the other Munro family.
  • The Fetterly family, were Palatine United Empire Loyalists, originally from Germany who settled in Ontario after the American Revolution.
  • The Reddicks have a similar background to the Fetterlys. Though they may have been Dutch and not German.
  • The Ouderkirks from Holland (Netherlands), New York State, Ontario.
  • The Rosses from Scotland, New York State, Glengarry, Ontario.
  • The McGregors from New York State, Glengarry, Ontario.
  • The Craigs were from Ayrshire in Scotland. Coming to Upper Canada (Ontario) in the early 1800s.
  • The Wilsons were from Antrim, Ireland. They settled in Artemesia, Grey county in the 1860s.
  • The Armstrongs were from Ireland. They settled in Artemesia, Grey county before 1851.
  • The Brewsters were from Ireland. They settled in Osprey, Grey county before 1851.
  • The Condys were from Ireland. I'm not sure where they settled, though I have read about them in the Flesherton Advance, Grey County.
  • The Reeves.
  • Murray.
  • Stewart.
  • Holmes.
  • Kennedy.
  • McKay.
  • Frue.
  • Campbell.
  • Schumacher.
  • Richtmeyer.
  • Brown.
  • baseler.
