James Des Champs was a Frenchman and accompanied a gentleman to this country as an interpreter.(1)
On 14 Jan. 1728 James was granted 100 acres of land on the Saco or Old Post Road. Each of the 14 grantees drew lots and paid 10/ and promised to live on their grant for 10 years. They were also to build a garrison.(2) James and Chasey were still living on 20 Aug. 1762 when they deeded land to Thomas Wiswell.(3)

Peter and Hannah renewed their covenant in the church in Arundel 5 Sept. 1773.
Peter was on the list of Arundel men who were drafted in Oct. 1776, however, I have been unable to find out any other information about his military service.(1)
Peter was taxed in Arundel in Oct. 1798 for a house valued at $30, 38 acres of land valued at $199, and a houselot valued at $105.(2)
Administration on the estate of Peter Deshon was granted before 6 Jan. 1817 to John Wildes, an heir by right of his wife Hannah as Peter's only surviving son Jonathan refused. The inventory amounted to �468 including his homestead in Arundel.(3) The division was made 8 Apr. 1817 to Hannah Wildes, eldest daughter (18 acres), Jonathan Deshon (3 acres including the house), Lydia Deshon (8 acres), the heirs of Benjamin Deshon, deceased (a lot), and the heir of Elijah Deshon, deceased (5 acres). On 6 Jan. 1817 John Wildes was permitted to sell Peter's lands.(4)

In the 1810 census "Eady Deshon" headed a household in Arundel which included 1 female 10-15, 1 male under 10, and 1 female under 10.(1)
