Roger Wellington of Watertown, MA

WELLINGTON

1. OLIVER

b.c.1580 Luxulyan, Cornwall
m. JOAN GREENWOOD (bur. 27 Feb. 1640)- d. of Henry Greenwood
bur. 10 Sept. 1625 London

Much discussion has occured on the Wellington family message boards concerning the early generations of this family. Evidently a privately published work, "Wellingtonia", by John Evelyn went into considerable detail concerning the family in Cornwall and Devon, however, few copies were printed and none are available on this side of the "pond" that I have been able to locate (to date it's not listed at WorldCat.org). All the information on Oliver is from those discussions, however, I have not seen any primary sources to back this up. Oliver was originally from Cornwall and moved to London where he was a dyer.
