It is said she had congestive cardiac failure x 8 years, mitral stenosis x 3 years and a hip fracture x 6 weeks from a fall after a dizzy spell. Says she lived x73 years in Omaha, which means she moved there in about 1885. The informant was Geroge Toman, her son. Need to look up obituary! CM
There may be Toman's, descendants of this line still in Nebraska. I reached a Raphael John Toman in Nov. 1999. His wife contacted me to let me know Ralph had had a severe stroke (CM)Recollections of Lester Crisswell, Oct. 1999
"I do recall grandma Coufal, telling me that she was about twelve years old when they came over here. She said the boat rocked through out the trip and that she was frightened the whole trip!
Grandpa Coufal was drafted in the Austrian Army, for the Military service, they traveled in all the counties in Europe. He could speak fluently seven different languages.
I was upstairs when he passed away. I then went downstairs and informed the family, John and family were visiting us at the time. He (grandpa) had a heart attack.
Frank Ourada who lived in Henderson, gave me the genealogy information, I do believe the Ourada's and Toman's have more information on the family history. The records of the families were kept in the Catholic Churches and not in the Civil files of records of the families.
There is a Tony Ourada buried in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada."

May have emmigrated with family in about 1886 if family stories correct. (CM)https://sites.rootsweb.com/~nedodge/news/mar99.htm accessed Oct. 1999.
Jeff Kappeler is a historian who presented the following:
There were three main categories used by the immigrants. Packing the chest with necessities and sentiments; Bedding bundle which contained their bedding; and Food. Now to break them down. Into the chest went necessities of: The Bible, psalm book and almanac, sentimental(small) items from the old country or the family, eating utensils, the cooking pot (for they cooked their meals aboard ship ).
The bedding bundle consisted of linen sacks, hand woven, which also served as bedding and into this there were feather ticks, pillows, woolen blankets-the linen sheets were all hand woven before leaving.
Of course the FOOD. Some was furnished by the crews of the ship, but a large basket of food was also taken by the families. Candles were important, and all was considered standard immigrant equipment.
