As furnished by Bill Hawkins,
Obituary of William Alva Criswell:
The Malvern Leader, IA, 28 Aug 1919: William Alva Criswell: William Alva Criswell was born December 4, 1867, in York County, Pennsylvania and died August 19, 1919, at his home in Omaha. He came with his parents, Wm. and Catherine Criswell from Pennsylvania, to Illinois, in the spring of 1870, moving to Mills County, Iowa, in the fall of the same year, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Mrs. A. G. Coulson, Nov. 29, 1917, at Fremont, Nebr. He leaves besides his widow and son, three brothers and three sisters, Frank Criswell of Tacoma, Washington, John M. of Creighton, Nebr., Clarence Criswell, of Malthill, Nebr., Mrs. B. F. Lamb of Geneva, Nebr., Mrs. Annie Gibson of Wallace, Nebr., Mrs. Amelia Craig of Ewood, Nebr., and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Bill, as he was familiarly known by his friends, had been a very patient sufferer from Diabetes for over a year. When his summons came he went quickly and quietly. He had been a resident of Omaha for about seventeen years. Short funeral services were held at the Malvern Cemetery, where he was buried, conducted by Rev. M. A. Gable, pastor of the M. E. Church. Music was furnished by Misses Lela and Ida Salyers, and Messrs. R. W. Criswell and Fred Stone. The cousins acted as pallbearers. Those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Frank Van Cleave of Newell, Iowa, Howard Colson and son, Mrs. Confal of Omaha, Bert Criswell and wife of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Lamb of Geneva, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibson of Wallace, Nebraska.
_______________
Cindy, If you are correct in stating that William Patterson Criswell is the Great-Grandfather of Bert Criswell Jr. and Les Criswell, then I believe that Bert Criswell's parents were William Alva Criswell & Sarah E. Godsey who were married 14 Mar 1891 in Iowa. They had a son whom I have been unable to identify. Bert Criswell Sr's 1895 birth date would fit. William and Sarah both died in Nebraska. A Bert Criswell regularly attended Criswell funerals in Malvern IA, but is never identified in the obituaries in terms of his relationship to the family. Bill Hawkins

Richard Louis Coufal , Jr.

"Richard L. Coufal, Jr., passed away on 14 Sept. 2004, at the age of 47. Passed in his home of natural causes. He was a retired United States Air Force Computer Superintendent. He had served his country faithfully for 23+ years and aspired to the rank of Master Sergeant. Richard enjoyed assignents at Offutt AFB Nebraska, Eglin AFB FL, and ROK South Korea. He retired from Active duty in August of 1997. Before his passing he was a college student, father, husband, and grand parent. I wrote the following thoughts for his program at his service:

"LIFE"
We are born, we live, and we die. I don't know what today brings. I don't know what tomorrow brings. Sponge Bob was my icon, Sadie my best friend and I was humble with all the crap life dealt me. My wife, my love, my children - hers and mine, my brother and his family may never find piece of mind. Our families will always remember him as one simple humble mind. God bless, love and peace to all man kind." Written with all rights reserved by EM Coufal. Richard had two children 1) Renee and 2) Michael. Michael lives with his biological mom on the East coast. Renee has three children 1) Rebecca, 2) Nicholas ("NIK") and 3) Garrett. Richard married his loving bride "Chari."
