MASON HALL TN
This web site is about the early history and settlers of the small community of Mason Hall in Obion County, Tennessee. It was once a wagon and stagecoach stop on a major trade and migration route west in the 1800s. It's also about the history and residents of the once nearby settlements of Tysonville and Davenport, slightly to the south of Mason Hall. And it records my ancestors that lived there over 100 years ago. Like Tysonville and Davenport, they too have long been gone and nearly forgotten, until now.
So ...... I hope to keep the history, the memory of these places and families alive here, on the internet forever, for those with ancestors in this area. That's what genealogist do. Included are hundreds of pages of stories, photos, and other information, in three sections:
THE BEGINNING, a brief history of those early communities.
My GENEALOGY FILE of those mentioned in the history and other early families of the area
OUR JENKINS......... And particulary for my family, the Jenkins story beginning in 1675 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia and their migration to Mason Hall, Tennessee
