Wednesday October 23, 1872
SUDDEN DEATH
On last Thursday morning, about half past 8 o'clock, Mr. Bayless G. Farley, a citizen of Kanawha county, while walking along Kanawha Street near Captain Laidley's Drug Store, in this city, suddenly dropped down on the pavement, utterly prostrated from heart diseasr, to which he had long been subject. He was promptly carried into the Hardware Store of A. H. Wilson, where he expired in a few minutes. His body was afterwards conveyed to the residence of his brother, Captain S. C. Farley, and in the afternoon taken by Masonic escort to his own residence, near Camp Piatt.
