The Kanawha Banner
January 23, 1834
Died at his father's residence at Gauley Bridge, Fayette County, Virginia in the 25th year of his age, Meleius Landcraft. For several years his health had been declining, but not until six months since were apprehensions had with reguard to a speedy termination of his earthly career it was ascertained that consumption had taken fast hold of his vitals. He lingered a few weeks and then expired leaving a circle of relations and friends soon to follow after.
