Enlisted 1777, Albemarle County, Va., under Captain London Jones and Lieutenant James Woods. Stationed along seaboard watching British shipping, with First Virginia Regiment. Re-inlisted and served under Captain Harris, Leaks, Thomas, and Wharton, and Colonel Matthews and General Nelson. For a time was with General Lafayette at Jamestown.
Applied for pension May 11, 1833, Kanawha County, Va. Certificate issued September 16, 1833. Died January 4, 1835. Reference to his son, Isham Bailey, Jr.
