The Kanawha Republican
July 16, 1844
Died on Tuesday the 16th inst., at the residence of Dr. Patrick. Robert M. Steele. aged 19 years and 7 months. This young gentleman, the youngest son of Mrs. Ellen Patrick, was a youth of uncommon promise and a beauty of character. For years he had been a diligent and devoted student, and in a few days expected to have reaped the reward of all his toils by graduating at the College of Marietta. He died of consumption.
