From "The Kanawha Gazette" Wednesday, April 5, 1893 (West Virginia Obituaries 1822-1899, Vol. 1, pg59):
Last Wednesday afternoon Robert Thaxton, of Kanawha Two Mile, went into his garden to plow it and when supper time came he failed to be present. His family became uneasy about him and some one went out to look for the old gentleman. He was found dead and the horse he had been plowing with was grazing. Mr. Thaxton was seventy five years old and leaves, besides a wife and seven grown up children, a large circle of friends who will regret to learn of his sudden death. The remains will be interred today in the family burial grounds.
