The Kanawha Banner
January 21, 1831
Departed this life on the evening of the 12th inst. in the Kanawha Salines, Mrs. Mary Wells, consort of Mr. Thomas Wells, in the 41st year of her age.
Seldom has humanity been called to sustain a shock so severe, or a dispensation of providence so afflicting, as in the above case. The grave had but just closed upon an infant member of this afflicted family, when the voice of death was again heard, and again a mournful visit was made to the house appointed for all living. Mrs. Wells was a worthy member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
