The Kanawha Banner
May 27, 1831

Also near this place, on the 20th inst. Mr. Zebulon Griffin. He was formerly a resident of this town, from which he removed to Teays Valley, where he resided several years. He had just resumed his residency here, when he was arrested by a pulmonary complaint, with which he lingered but a short time. Wherever he was known he was respected while living, and will be deeply regretted now dead. His remains were interred with Masonic honors.

Kanawha Register
May 21, 1830

Died on Monday the 17th inst. at the residence of his father, in Teays' Valley, after a protracted illness, Charles Griffin, formerly of this place, an amiable and promising young man in the 22nd year of his age.
