A stocking for their 4 grandchildren who lived near them hung on their dining room fireplace mantel.  A ceramic church, snowman couple, a ceramic tree and angels adorned the mantel.
"Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."  Matthew 1:22-23

Martin & Zelda moved to their rural home near Springtown, AR in March of 1994.  The pictures on this page are typical of how they observed Christmas during the years before Martin's death.  Martin's last Christmas with his family was December of 2009.  He passed away on March 31, 2010.

Christmas lights -- 2004

This nativity scene made by Zelda's sister, sat in their dining room window. Their son, Joel, created the star that appears above it every Christmas eve, a family tradition that continues.
