FIRST GENERATION

1. James BOGGS(1)(2) was born in Jan 1784. 1880 Census shows James Boggs (his son) with birthplace of GA, and his parent's birthplace as GA also. (Is this birthplace incorrect? Judith Anderson believes he was born in SC.) He died between 1823 and 1834.

He obtained a marriage license on 15 Sep 1806.(3) He was married to Vilatta (Viley) WARD on 18 Sep 1806 in Jackson Co., GA.(4)Violatta (Viley) WARD(5)(2) was born on 4 Jan 1785. (6)(2) (Notes from Emily O'Neal: birth of Violatta 1785, Notes from Judith Anderson: birth of Vilatta 1795 Which one is correct?) She appeared on the census in 1850 in Jackson Co., GA. 1850 Jackson Co., GA census shows Vilatta Boggs, age 55, female, born in GA, can't read or write. She died on 4 Oct 1861 in Jackson Co., GA. 
1880 Census of Floyd Co., GA shows James Boggs (her son) with birthplace of GA, and parent's birthplace of GA. (Is this birthplace an error?) Notes from Emily O'Neal: Was early settler in Oglethorpe County, GA near the south fork of Mulberry Fork, of Oconee River. 
James BOGGS and Violatta (Viley) WARD had the following children:

child5 iv. Mary BOGGS(7) was born about 1818.
