(50) was born in 1861 in GA.^(51)(52) She appeared on the census in 1870 in Floyd Co., GA.⁽⁵³⁾ 1870 Floyd Co., GA census shows Samantha E. Green, age 9, F, W, At Home, born in GA, attended school. She appeared on the census in 1880 in Floyd Co., GA.⁽⁵⁴⁾ 1880 Floyd County Census shows Bettie S. Green, age 18, daughter of Sirenous & Adline, keeping house, born in GA. She died before 1900. On the 1900 Floyd Co., GA census, her mother states she had 11 children, with 6 still living. Of the 7 children I have names for, the death dates for the other 6 fell after 1900, so by process of elimination, I would assume Elizabeth died before 1900. Her son John H. Carter was living with the grandparents and uncle Melvin Green's family at this time.

She obtained a marriage license on 14 Dec 1880 in Floyd Co., GA. She was married to John Henry CARTER on 16 Dec 1880 in Floyd Co., GA. The Cordle Family History book had their marriage as 16 Dec 1888. There is an Elizabeth Green who married a John F.(sic) Carter on 16 Dec 1880 according to the Floyd Co., GA Marriage Index Book. It is found in Book C, p. 308. Samantha "Elizabeth" GREEN and John Henry CARTER had the following children:
