        Esther started High School in 1915 driving with Russell from home toKingston.
        Esther went to Edgerton in September 1916 and stayed with Edd andFay through her Sophomore year in high school.
        Esther went to Kingston for her Junior year, doing lighthousekeeping. In the fall of 1918 Esther went to Queen City and stayedwith Fay and Edd while she finished her fourth year of High School.Esther graduated in May 1919, from Queen City High School, and got herteacher's certificate in the summer. In the fall of 1919 Esther went toteach at Bonanza and boarded at Hartleys'. She taught there for twoyears 1919-1920 and 1920-1921. Esther was teaching at Dillon in 1922 andhelped her mother (Alice) and the ODell boy while Russell was gone toWashington to pick apples. Esther was teaching at Bonanza in 1923.
        Esther was married to Raymond Hartley and went to live at Bonanza,about 4 miles east of Kingston.
        Raymond and Esther Hartley, his mother Tina Hartley, and Alice wentwest in the fall of 1931 driving a big car with all kinds of supplies forsleeping, cooking, etc. as cabins were not supplied with much in thosedays. They visted Harolds in Manson. Mrs. Hartley's sister, Mary Kyleand family in Wenatchee, Phillip Hartley in California and the CharlesRunkles in San Fernando, California.
        The Hartleys made a trip to Wasington in the fall of 1938 and Aliceand Mabel went with them. They were there during the apple harvest.
