204 Hooper & Certen to } We Samuel S. Hooper & Asa Certain Wade Bill of Sale 2 Slaves } in pursuant to a decree of the Circuit } Court of Dekalb County made at the December term 1838 of said county have this day sold and do hereby convey to Pleasant M. Wade his heirs & assigns forever in consideration of a note of hand executed to us by the said P. M. Wade & his Security to wit in the sum of one thousand & twenty one dollars & 50 cents baring date the first of January 1839 & Due twelve months after date two female slaves Fiska & Malinda we warant the title to said slaves to said P.M. Wade his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons what ever we warrant them to be sound sensible & a slave for life this the 18th of January 1839 Test David Fite Samuel S. Hooper {SEAL} D. Coggin Asa Certain {SEAL} State of Tennessee Dekalb County personally appeared before me P.M. Wade Clerk of Said County Court 205 David Fite and D. Coggin subscribing witness to the within Bill of Sale who being first sworn do pose and say that they are acquainted with Samuel S. Hooper & Asa Certain the bargainers and that they acknowledged the execution of this Bill of Sale in their presents for the purposes therin contained upon the day it bears date.
