White County Tennessee Deed Book 26; Pages 76-77 S. E. Hooper | to | Deed J. L. Pirtles heirs | We Samuel S. Hooper and wife Mary Hooper have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to the heirs of Jacob L. Pirtle and their heirs forever, for the consideration of Five Dollars to us paid, and other valuable considerations, a tract of land in the State of Tennessee, White County, and District No. 5. Containing by estimation One Hundred and Thirty Eight Acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows: Beginning on a rock (formerly a black walnut corner) in what was Robt. Cooks line, running Eastwardly to the ford of the Creek or branch, thence up said Creek with its meanders passing the head of the Spring to a white oak at the mouth of a hollow, thence up said hollow a direct line made by John Cantrell and Smith Cantrell heirs a representatives of Aaron Cantrell, dec'd, to a stake outside of the fence on the East side of said Smith Cantrells part of said farm, thence Northwardly a new chopped line to a post oak, thence Eastwardly to a black oak standing on the line of (then Richard Crowder), thence South with said line to a stake in Cooks line, thence West with Cooks line to a small white oak sapling his Northwest corner at the mouth of a hollow, thence up said hollow a marked line towards the cypress Swamp to a small black oak sapling, Geo. Pirtles corner, thence West with said Pirtles line to a post oak in the East boundary line of Robt. Cooks tract of land, whereon he then lived, thence North with said Cooks line 70 poles to the beginning, to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said heirs of Jacob L. Pirtle, dec'd, and their heirs forever. I covenant with said heirs that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it. I further covenant and bind myself, my heirs or representatives to warrant and defend the title to said land against the claims of all persons claiming through or under us and no further or otherwise.
