THE STATE OF TENNESSEE - No. 1301
TO all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
KNOW Ye, that by virtue of warrant No 52 dated the 22nd day
of October 1802 paid to Elijah Chisum by the Secretary of this
State and entered on the 18th day of August 1808 by No 55
There is granted by the said state of Tennessee, unto John McGee
assignee of the said Elijah Chisum
a certain tract or parcel of land, containing one hundred acres lying
in Warren County in the third District on the East side of
Collins river - Beginning at an elm the North West corner
of his pre-emption right standing on the side of a mountain
thence North one hundred and thirty poles to a black oak and
Hickory on the side of said Mountain, thence East one hun-
dred and fourteen poles t a hickory in a conditional line made
with Jacob Weaver thence with said condition South ten
degrees East sixty poles to a poplar thence South twenty three
degrees East seventy two poles to an elm and dogwood thence
West one hundred and fifty poles to the Beginning - Surveyed
September 2nd 1809.
With the hereditaments and appurtenances - To have and to hold the said
tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances to the said John McGee
and his heirs for ever - In witness whereof John Sevier Governor
of the state of Tennessee, hath hereunto set his hand, & caused the great
seal of the state to be affixed, at Knoxville, on the third day of
July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
nine, and of the Independence of the United States the thirty third
