Death of Maj. Samuel McGee

  Died, Dec. 31st 1884, at his home
im McGee's Cove, Maj. Samuel McGee.
  Mr. McGee was quite an old man,
having lived all his life, (79 years) on
the same farm, being only six months
old when his father moved to the place.
Maj. McGee was elected and served
one term in the Legislature.  He, at 
the time of his death, was a ruling
elder in the C.P. Church at Shiloh.
  He was buried on Thursday, Jan.
1st 1885, in the family burying ground
near his home.  The funeral service
was conducted by Rev. G.T. Stain-
back, D.D. of this place.  The de-
ceased leaves a large number of rela-
tives and friends to lament his death.
