White County Tennessee Deed Book P; 1848-1851 Pages 135-136 George Pirtle | to | Elija H. Pirtle | This Indenture made this the Tenth day of March 1835 between George Pirtle of the County of White and State of Tennessee of the one part and Elija H. Pirtle of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witness that the said George Pirtle for and in consideration of the Sum of forty five Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Elijah H. Pirtle the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained Sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said Elija H. Pirtle his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of White in the first district and on the waters of the Caney fork. Beginning at an ash stump in a Swamp thence South 40 poles to a black oak stump Glenn's South West corner, thence ninety poles to a post oak Glenn's North West corner of a fifteen acre Survey, thence South 34 poles to a post oak and Black oak, thence West one hundred and twelve poles to two black Jacks on the Hill Side, thence South 20 poles to the corner a black oak, thence West 50 poles to a post oak, thence Northeast 50 poles to a post oak near the corner of a little field, thence with said field about forty poles to the North corner, thence Southeast with said field about forty five poles to a post oak in the line of Sd Pirtle's, thence North with said line to a post oak, thence E. Crossing a --?-- to a black walnut near the corner of Elija Pirtle's fence, Thence North sd fence to a black gun in a Swamp, thence down Sd Swamp to the beginning ash Stump. Containing Seventy three acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits ---?--- heredirments and appurtenances for in and to the Same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the Sd Elijah H. Pirtle his heirs and assigns forever and the Sd George Pirtle for himself his Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said land and bargained premises he will Warrant and forever defend in Witness to here of the Sd George Pirtle hath here unto set his hand and affixed his Seal this the day and year just above written, Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of us. Pirtle one of the subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed of Conveyance & he after being duly Sworn as the law directs deposed and Said that he was acquainted with George Pirtle the within named conveyor and that he --?-- acknowledged the within Deed for the purposed there in contained which is recorded. Witness my hand at office the 24th day of September A.D. 1845. Test William Little Clerk of White County Court State of Tennessee White County Personally appeared before me William Little Clerk of White County Court Jesse Lay one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within deed of Conveyance who after being duly sworn as the law directs deposed and says that he was personally acquainted with George Pirtle the conveyor in the within deed and that he executed the same for the purposes there in contained which is recorded.
