Pirtle Family Cemetery Davidson County Tennessee East of Nashville Metro Airport Directions South of Couchville Pike, on a hill behind a house having House Number 2355. On the right of House Number 2355 is a power line. Follow the power line right of way up the hill for 4 power poles. Turn west (right) into light growth and you will find a couple of dilapidated out-buildings. The cemetery is behind these out-buildings. There are only three graves with inscribed tombstones. Another adult grave marked with field stones is located with the inscribed graves. There are two small tombstones which mark a child�s or infant�s grave, but these two have no dates or names. There is evidence of several other unmarked graves at this location. The inscribed headstones are all on the ground with the footstones still standing. These four graves are in a line with data as follows: S. B. Pirtle; Apr. 14, 1860 - Feb. 19, 1931 (Samuel B. Pirtle, son of Robert C. Pirtle) Footstone; S. B. P. R. C. Pirtle; Born Nov. 15, 1820 - Died Mar. 17, 1898 (Robert Cooke Pirtle) Footstone; R. C. P. Unknown Adult Grave; Marked with field stones at head and foot Urcley C. , wife of R. C. Pirtle; Born April 1, 1829 - Died September 20, 1900 Footstone; U. C. P. (Ursulla Caroline Earles Pirtle) Robert Cooke Pirtle and family are found in the following census records: 1. 1850 Coffee County Tenn; 2nd District; Pages 172-26 2. 1870 White County Tenn; 5th District; No. 132-132; Page 342 3. 1880 Davidson County Tenn; 5th District; No. 44-51; Page 53B Robert Cooke Pirtle left a will recorded in Davidson County Tenn. Will Book 34, Page 446, dated March 3, 1898; Probated April 5, 1898. Robert C. Pirtle was married to Ursulla Caroline Earles about 1845 in White County Tenn. Cemetery Visited By: James R.
