DENNIS MAHONEY, son of KATE
O'MAHONEY. He was born
April 10, 1902 in County Cork, Ireland. His name was changed from O'Mahony upon entering
the U.S. He stayed for a while with Tim and Hannah Mulane Buckley on E.138th
Street, Bronx. Denny, as he was called, worked for the Interborough Rapid Transit Co., the
forerunner of todays MTA. He worked as a car mechanic on the train cars. Denny was
never sick a day in his life. One time around 1988 he had a headache and was talked into
taking one aspirin and then thought he overdosed on them! Denny was very active even in
his later years and rode his bicycle over 3 miles almost every day. He rode his bike
almost till the end. He also enjoyed a good game of horseshoes. Denny died June 11, 1990
in Valley Stream, Nassau County, NY.

Katherine 'Kate" O'Mahoney - Denny's Mother, lived at 23 Bridge
Street, Mallow when she died on August 6, 1952 at 85.

Denny married CATHERINE NYHAN was born February 06, 1903 in
Burnfort,
Knochbrack Mallow, County Cork. Catherines nickname was "Cattie" or
"Caddie".

DENNIS MAHONEY, b. February 04, 1939, in N.Y. Denis was
a fireman with the New York
Fire Department. Dennis died March 26, 1970, in the Bronx, NY.
