James Nyhan

JAMES NYHAN was born November 30, 1916 in
Burnfort, Knochbrack Mallow, County Cork,
Ireland. His occupation was that of a farmer. He ran the family farm very successfully and
added to it by acquiring other properties. He probably at least tripled the size of the
original property. He was also in the dairy business, with both livestock and transport.
He was well known and well loved by the community as evidenced by the massive turnout to
his wake and funeral. He died January 14, 2000 in Ireland. He married CATHERINE
"KITTY" HAYES October 02, 1937 in Ireland, daughter of JOHN HAYES and NORA
CRONIN. She was born April 13, 1914 in Ireland, and died January 29, 1980 in Burnfort .

NYHAN (Burnfort) - On January 14, 2000, in the tender loving care of the Sisters, nurses and staff of Nazareth Home, Mallow, James, beloved
husband of the late Catherine (nee Hayes), Knockbrack, Burnfort. Deeply
regretted by his loving sons Jim (Farnanes), John, daughters Nora-May
(Kilavullen) and Kathleen (Templemore), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law,
sister, sister-in-law, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nephews, nieces
and a large circle of friends. May he rest in peace. Lying in repose at Long's Funeral Home, Townview, Mallow. Rosary on today (Saturday) at
9.30p.m. Funeral arrangements later. Enquiries 022-21572.
