Walter Imlah
1923 - 2003

WALTER R. IMLAH We, the family of Walter R. Imlah announce his
passing on Thursday, January 24, 2002. Dad was born in Fisherton,
MB. on August 30, 1923, to Rueben Imlah (1946), and Hazel Switzer
(1976). He spent his younger years on the farm until he enlisted
in the Army in 1941. First he joined the Artillery, from which he
was discharged in 1942 for medical reasons. He joined the Army
again in 1943, this time with the Queens Own Cameren Highlanders,
with which he served the rest of the war. He was a life member
and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Elmwood Branch No.
9.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Wayne (Carol)
of Calgary, AB, Cathy (David) of Broad Valley, MB, Rita (Aurele)
of Fisher Branch, MB, Jim of Winnipeg, MB; his grandchildren,
Chelsea, Chad, Brittany, Kayla, Krystyn, Ashlan, Jocelyn, Riley,
Jenna and Danton. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers,
Edna Ruth, Roy (Simone) Imlah, Wallace (Josie) Imlah, Dan (Dorothy)
Imlah, Julia (Earl) Stenslaner, Maybelle (Keith) Playter, Mary
Ricard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased
by his sister, Gladys and his brother, Alonzo.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2:00 p.m.
at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Fisher Branch, MB. Officiant
will be Wesley Barrett. In lieu of flowers donations may be made
to the Fisher HandiVan or to a charity of your choice.
