Aimé Armand BRUNEAU


Suddenly on Monday, December 20, 1982, at the Selkirk General Hospital, Aimé Bruneau, aged 52 years, dearly beloved husband of Geraldine Bruneau of East Selkirk.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23 in the Selkirk Funeral Chapel, 209 Dufferin Ave. with Fr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery, Mapleton. The remains will rest for viewing and friends may call at the chapel on Wednesday (today) from 7:00 to  8:00 p.m.

Besides his beloved wife Geraldine, he leaves to mourn his untimely passing and to cherish his memory five sons, Ken and his wife Val and grandson Kevin of British Columbia, Richard, Perry and Larry of Winnipeg and Rene at home ; four daughters, Janice and Lesley at home, Bonnie and her fiancé Jeff of Winnipeg and Lori of Lethbridge. He leaves also his mother Rose and his stepfather John Borasczuk of Winnipeg ; two brothers, Leon of Winnipeg and Hector of Lorette ; four sisters, Anna and Terry of Fisher Branch, Emma of Elie and Lillian of Vancouver. Aimé was predeceased by his father Honora in 1969.

In lieu of  flowers, if friends so  desire, donations may be made tin Aimé's memory to the Manitoba Heart Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg.

Leon Joseph BRUNEAU


After a lengthy battle with cancer at the Victoria Hospital, Mr. Leon Joseph Bruneau, aged 59 years, late of Winnipeg.

Prayers were said on Thursday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. At Luxton Ave. Mass of the Resurrection celebrated on Friday, June 7 at 3:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, Man. Fr. D. Bourbonnais, O.M.I. officiated. Private interment in Fisher Branch, Man.

Leon was born in Fisher Branch in 1925, coming to Winnipeg in 1957 . He had been employed with  the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation for the past 22 years.

He is survived by three sons, Norman and wife Michelle, Dennis and fiancée Deanna and Kelly at home ; three daughters, Annette, Shelly and Julie ; 14 grandchildren and also by his former wife Margaret ; his mother Rose Boraschuk and husband John, all of Winnipeg ; sisters,  Anna Dandeneau and husband Leo of Fisher Branch, Emma Bernardin and husband Armand of Elie and Lilian Mattus and husband Roy of Langley, B.C., Terry Wallack and husband Mike of Fisher Branch ; one sister-in-law Geri Bruneau of Selkirk ; one brother Hector and wife Yvonne of Lorette, Man., and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Honora in 1969 and his brother Aimie in 1982.

Donation in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 202-777 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.

Rose Mathilda ZBARASZUK


Peacefully with her family by her side, on Thursday, August 7, 1997, at her residence in the Fisher Branch Chalet, Rose Mathilda Zbaraszuk of Fisher Branch, passed away  at the age of 92 years.

Rose was predeceased  by her first husband, Honora Bruneau and three sons. She is survived by her second husband John ; daughter, Lillian Mottus, Therese Wallack and husband Mike, son Hector Bruneau ; two step-daughters, Anne Dandeneau and Emma Bernardin ; two sisters, Zephrina Schmidt and Alice Meilleur ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation.

Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 10 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Fisher Branch at 7:00p.m. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11 at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment of cremains in the Parish Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the Percy E. Moore Hospital, the home care workers and especially Shannon Pyziak.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher Branch Personal Care Home.

John ZBARASCHUK


Peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 1998 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, MB, John Zbaraschuk of Fisher Branch, passed away at the age of 86 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Rose ; sister, Julia Kurdziel and Lena Shepell and one brother Peter.  John is survived by one sister Anne Alexandruk ; brothers Stanley and Adolphe; stepchildren, Lillian, Therese and Hector and their families and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was born in St. Norbert, Man. in 1912. He moved to the Marble Ridge area with his family, where he farmed until retiring to the Fisher Branch Chalet in 1977, where he met and later married Rose Brunneau in 1978.

Special thanks to Stephanie Hyde for all her friendship and care, to the Fisher Branch Home Care, to Sr. Agnes and to Dr. David Roberts and staff of Percy E. Moore Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Ed Basaraba, Carl Kurdziel, Mike Baraschuk, Stephanie Hyde, John Peters and Arthur Shepell.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Fisher Branch at 10:30 a.m., followed by internment in the parish cemetery, with Rev. Fr. Bo. Wardzinski and Deacon Robert Giasson officiating.

In lieu of  flowers, donations may be make to a charity of one's choice.
