410. David BRAYTON (92) was born on 7 Feb 1744 in Smithfield,,RI. He died on 31 May 1814 in Pittstown,Rensellaer,NY. David Brayton (Baulstone 4, Preserved 3, Stephen 2, Francis 1), the third child and the third son of Baulstone and Margaret (Lee) Brayton, was born 7 Feb 1744, at Smithfield, RI and died 31 May 1814, at Pittstown, NY.

On 28 Jun 1781, David Brayton was married to Abigail Baron, by the Rev. Ephraim Hyde, at the Newman Congregational Church, at Rehoboth, Mass. Abigail Baron was born about 1757 , died 7 May 1842 and is buried in the Brayton Cemetery, at Pittstown, NY.

David Brayton is listed as one of the officers of the Town of Pittstown, Rensselaer County, NY from 1789 to 1798.

The will of David Brayton, dated 24 May 1814 and recorded 28 Jun 1814, at Rensselaer County, NY, appointed his wife Abigail and his son Daniel Brayton as Co-exeutors.

"In the name of God Amen, I David Brayton of the town of Pittstown, County of Rensselaer and State of New York, being weak in body but of sound & perfect mind & memory, and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will & testament in manner & form following (that is to say) --
First I commend my soul to God my most merciful Creator from whom I had my first being and my body to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors:
Secondly, I do give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Abigail Brayton the one half of my real & personal property after the payment of all my debts, which I hereby direct to be paid out of my personal estate before there is any division made of the same, during her natural life or so long as she shall remain my widow.
I also give & bequeath & devise unto my two sons Daniel Brayton and Henry Brayton my home farm which I now live on with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to be equally divided between them excepting out of the said farm the one half which I have bequeathed to my wife Abigail Brayton during her natural life or so long as she remain my widow.
I do also in consequence of the said devise direct my son Daniel Brayton to pay the several legacies or sums of money.
First to pay my son David Brayton, Junr. the sum of One hundred dollars one year after my decease, and the sum of sixty dollars to my son William Brayton within two years after my decease. Also the sum of fifty dollars to Polly Sturges or her children if she is not living within three years after my decease. Likewise the sum of fifty dollars to my grand daughter Abigail Sturges when she shall become eighteen years of age. I also give & devise unto my daughter Polly Sturges & her children after her decease a certain lot of land bounded on the south by the mason line called by the name of the martain lot excepting out of the lot the one half which I have before bequeathed unto my wife Abigail Brayton during her natural life or so long as she shall remain my widow. I also give & bequeath unto my son Henry Brayton all the personal property that I have bequeathed unto my wife Abigail Brayton or that she may be seased of at her decease. I also give & bequeath unto my son Henry Brayton the remaining half of my personal property after the payment of all my debts as is above directed. I also do hereby appoint my wife Abigail Brayton together with my son Daniel Brayton my Executors of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen."

411. Abigail BARON (93) was born about 1757. She died on 7 May 1842. She was buried in Brayton Cemetery,Pittstown,Rensellaer,NY. Children were:

child ii. David BRAYTON Jr.(94). Named in 24 May 1814 will of his father, David Brayton "my son David Brayton, Junr. the sum of One hundred dollars one year after my decease."
child iii. William BRAYTON(95). Mentioned in the 24 May 1814 will of his father, David Brayton "sum of sixty dollars to my son William Brayton within two years after my decease."
child iv. Abigail BRAYTON(96) was born about 1790. She died on 3 Jan 1807. She was buried in Brayton Cemetery,Pittstown,Rensellaer,NY.
child v. Daniel BRAYTON(97) (98) was born about 1792. He died on 19 Feb 1842 in Sturbridge, MA. Daniel Brayton, a son of David and Abigail (Baron) Brayton, was born about 1792 and died 19 Feb 1842, at Sturbridge, Mass., from "Consumption".

Daniel Brayton was married to Ann Wing, as his first wife, in 1815.

On 15 Aug 1829, Intentions were filed at Sturbridge, Mass. for the marriage of Daniel Brayton to Almira Carr and on 17 Aug. 1829, they were married by Nehemiah B. Beardsley. However, the marriage records of Union, Conn. record a marriage of Daniel Brayton to Almira Cone, of Ashford, on 17 Aug 1829. According to records of Ashford, Conn., Almira Carr, a daughter of William and Elithear (?) Carr, was born 5 Sept 1807. Vital records for Sturbridge, Mass. record a death for the wife of Daniel Brayton on 27 Oct 1834, at age 35, which would suggest her date of birth as about 1799.

Daniel Brayton was appointed as Co-Executor of the 24 May 1814 Rensselaer County will of his father, David Brayton, and also named as a beneficiary.

Daniel Brayton became a Methodist minister and resided at Mt. Morris, IL.
child vi. Henry BRAYTON(99) (100) was born on 30 Nov 1794. He died in Jun 1854. On 7 Jan 1837, Henry Brayton is recorded as an official member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, at Tomhannack, NY. The minutes of this church, dated 19 May 1834, list Henry Brayton as a local preacher.

Henry Brayton is named as a beneficiary in the 24 May 1814 Rensselaer County will of his father, David Brayton.
