by the Rev. Wm. McMahon, Mr. T. T. Turnage, to Miss Naomi K. Isabel, all of
Marshall Co."
From "Descendants of Josiah Askew", p. 73:
David (Turnage) was a witness to a deed in Marshall County, MS (Deed Book L
page 472) 4 Apr 1844 along with Thomas Turnage. Grantee was Amos Turnage of Marshall
County...Thomas T. Turnage was appointed administrator [of David Turnage's estate]
and entered into $12,000 bond (Fayette Co TN Minute Book L, page 225). According
to Fayette Co TN Minute Book L, page 597, 2 Sep 1872 - because of Thomas T. Turnage's
death on 17 Aug 1872, Charles Lynn was appointed Administrator of David's estate
to replace Thomas T. Turnage. He was married to Naomi Keyes ISBELL on 10 Sep
1851 in Mississippi.

Creek Baptist Church,Burgess,Lafayette,MS. Tombstone gives her name as "Naoma
Kathryn Turnage (wife of T.T. Turnage)" Birthdate given by Mrs. Vernon
B. Harrison as 21 Nov 1827, but Lafayette County Heritage sketch gives birth
date as 21 November 1828. Mrs. Harrison gives death date as well. Children were:

Jordan Levi TURNAGE(37) was born on
28 Jul 1852 in Panola Co,MS. He died on 24 Dec 1893 in Red River Co,TX. Notes
per Judy Lindsey-Howington:
Jordan Levi Turnage was a Senator for the state of Mississippi for Lee, Monroe
& Itawamba Counties, in 1888 and 1890.
Jordan worked as a preacher, teacher, blacksmith, farmer and State Senator.
Jordan Levi was a Baptist minister. He was pastor of a Baptist Church in Saltillo,
MS and several other churches in MS. He went to Texas, to the Red River area
in 1894 to help establish new churches there. He became ill, probably pneumonia,
and died before his family could join him in Texas. He was brought back to MS.
and buried in Saltillo in Lee Co. Emma later moved to Texas with some of her
children and died there.
