"Next to become master of the Alsop Estate was John, who by his first wife Jane, daughter of John Beresford, seventh son of Thomas and Agnes Beresford of Fenny Bentley, had a son George Alsop and a daughter Thomazine, who became the wife of Henry Kayes of Kilburne. John married as his second wife, Margery Sleigh. Their children were Margery, Grace, Elizabeth, Ellena, Anthony, Thomas, Henry, and the youngest son John.This last son moved to London and married as his first wife, Elizabeth Twinn of Duxford, Kent .... Margery became the wife of John Kinder; Grace married a Bingham; Elizabeth married a Norman; and Ellena wed John Milward of Doveridge and Broadlow Ash."
