Edward Lynn Kimmins
Kimmins, Edward L., 87, of Dallas, (West Virginia) died at the Ohio
Valley General Hospital (Wheeling, WV) Saturday (January 10, 1959) at
2:40 p.m. After a serious illness of one day's duration. He was born in
Marshall County (WV) August 24, 1871, a son of Abner and Elizabeth Dagg*
Kimmins. He was a lifelong resident of Dallas where he operated a store
prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Dallas Presbyterian
Church and the West Finley (PA) Grange.
His wife, Mary Abercrombie Kimmins, passed away in 1937. Surviving are
four sons, W(illis) R., Roy, and Forrest all of Dallas (WV) and William
of Wheeling (WV); three daughters, Mrs. Laura Crawford of Wheeling (WV),
Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes of Dallas (WV) and Mrs Virginia Craig of
Triadelphia (WV); 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Friends are being received at Kepner's (Funeral Home) 107 Key Avenue,
(Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV). Funeral services will be held Tuesday
(January 13, 1959) at Kepner's with the Rev. John Gray in charge.
Burial will be in the Dallas Cemetery (Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV)
ESPECIAL NOTE: The Death Certificate of Mr. Kimmins indicates that his
mother's maiden name was spelled Dague. Source: Obituary in Wheeling
