AGED MAN DIES SUDDENLY -- Thomas Roach, Peters Township, Succumbs to Apoplexy.
Thomas Roach, one of the oldest residents of Peters Township, died very suddenly this morning about 8 o'clock, of apoplexy, aged 70 years. Mr. Roach had been in his usual health up to within a few moments of his death. This morning he had eaten a hearty breakfast, and had just stepped outside the house when he was suddenly seized and fell heavily to the ground. He was lifted up and carried into the house, and word sent to Dr. Weygandt of Thomas station, but death occurred before the physician arrived, and without Mr. Roach regaining consciousness. Then the doctor arrived he pronounced the death due to apoplexy.
The deceased was a member of one of the oldest families in Peters Township, and his home was near Center Church. He is survived by his wife and three children: R. B. Roach, S. M. Roach and Mrs. James Fife, all living in the vicinity of Thompsonville. He was a member of Center Presbyterian Church. The time of the funeral has not been fixed.
