Mary L. Bruce
Glass worker for more than 30 years Mary L. Bruce, 81, of Washington, formerly of Graysville, died at 5:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Cherry Tree Assisted Living Center, Washington, after suffering from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) for the past two years.
She was born in Graysville, a daughter of Ellwood and Clara McDaid Bruce.
Miss Bruce had resided in Washington since 1952.
She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville and a member of Washington Senior Citizens.
Miss Bruce was an employee of the former Hazel Atlas Glass Plant and was last employed as a packer at Ball Glass, both in Washington, for more than 30 years, prior to her retirement in 1982.
She was a 1938 graduate of Richhill Township High School.
Surviving are a great-niece, Deborah Bruce, who was her primary caregiver; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.
Miss Bruce was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are a brother, Clay Dean Bruce; a sister, Margaret Bruce, who died in infancy; and a half sister, Merle Bruce.
