Harvey D. Shoemaker
Harvey D. Shoemaker, 66, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Mr. Shoemaker was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., the son of Lawrence and Mamie Gordon Shoemaker. He worked for U.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs for many years and had worked at Pendot. He was a member and trustee of Wayside Chapel of Berkeley Springs.
He married Marie F. Stotler on April 13, 1956.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Diane M. Taylor of Berkeley Springs; four sons, Larry D. Shoemaker, Gerald R. Shoemaker, and Craig E. Shoemaker, all of Berkeley Springs, and Danny C. Shoemaker of Hancock, Md; five sisters, Virginia Johnson of Hancock, Nellie Morgan of Newport, Pa., and Annie McDaid of Houstotown, Pa., Daisy Wisher of Waynesboro, Pa., and Mary Miller of Smithsburg, Md.; two brothers, Lawrence Shoemaker of Big Cove Tannery and Floyd Shoemaker of Hancock; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Robert Ardinger and Pastor Hal Butman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, c/o Kathie Campbell, 2015 Boyd Orchard Court, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401 or to Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School, Route 522, Berkeley Springs.

Anna B. McDaid, 88, of Hustontown, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Surviving are her husband, Earl H. McDaid; and a daughter, Judith Rusack.
Interment will be in Fairview United Methodist Cemetery.

Okey Ellsworth Sprowls, 51, of West Finley, died at 9 AM Friday March 21, 1952 at his home, of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for two years.
Before his illness, Mr. Sprowls was employed by the State Highway Department, and also served as a township supervisor for West Finley Township. He was born March 2, 1901, in East Finley, and was a son of Jacob L. Sprowls, who survives, and the late Minnie Henry Sprowls. Almost all his life was spent in West Finley. He was a member of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are three daughters, June, wife of Glenn Amos, of West Finley; Jane, wife of John Salsbury of West Finley, and Betty Sprowls at home; one son, Ray Sprowls, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Reese, of West Finely; Mrs. Reed Karr, of Claymount, Del.; Mrs. Ruby Hughes, of West Finley, and Mrs. Daisy Harris, of Washington, and two brothers, Melvin Sprowls of Washington; and Delmar Sprowls, of Akron, Ohio.
