J. M. Roy HERRIOTT, 83, of Houston, died Tuesday, January 20, 1976, in the Washington hospital.
The son of Howard and Minnie EXPEY HERRIOTT, he was born February 8, 1892, in Hickory. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I. A member of First Presbyterian Church, Houston, he also belonged to the B.P.O. E. of Canonsburg, and AmericanLegion Post 902, Houston.
Surviving are two sons, Addison HERRIOTT of Bethel Park and Jesse HERRIOTT of New Castle; and one granddaughter. His wife, Weltha, died in 1969.
Funeral services were held January 23 in Houston, in charge of the Rev. Austin GILLELAND. Burial was in Mt. Prospect cemetery.

Goldie B. Mellott
NEEDMORE - Goldie Blanche Mellott, 83, of 4188 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, died at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in her home.
Born Oct. 14, 1918, in Sipes Mill, she was a daughter of the late Andrew David and Lola Ray Mellott Swope.
She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore.
Retired, she worked for 20 years for Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg.
She married Ross F. Mellott on Feb. 22, 1936. He died in 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Faye L. Leese of Needmore; a foster son, Richard F. Wilson of Needmore; two granddaughters; a grandson; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna McDaid of Hustontown and Della Mellott of Needmore; and a brother, Ellis Swope of Needmore.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ross F. Mellott Jr.; two sisters; and three brothers.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Fridayin Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore. The Rev. Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Needmore.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Sipes Funeral Home Inc., 6633 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, and one hour before the service Friday in the church.

Ellis Swope
NEEDMORE - Ellis Swope, 87, of 8110 Sipes Mill Road, died Wednesday, June 25, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Born in Sipes Mill, May 20, 1916, he was a son of the late Andrew D. and Iola Mellott Swope.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville, where he was a past treasurer, board member and Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Swope was a retired operator at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred J. Schooley Swope, whom he married Dec. 21, 1985; three foster daughters, Glenda J. Mellott of Harrisonville, D. Kay Musser of Carlisle and Bonnie Miller of Greencastle; two foster sons, Larry Betz of Harrisonville and Travis Fogal of Needmore; a stepdaughter, Charlene Post of Needmore; three stepsons, Charles Swope of Needmore and Kermit Swope of Warfordsburg; a sister, Edna McDaid of Hustontown; 10 foster grandchildren; 2 foster great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 4 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Bard, three brothers and three sisters.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church. Pastor Dan Porterfield and Revs. Bill Swope and Willis Swope will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, and one hour before the service Sunday in the church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
