Hoping you have some information on Sarah Higgins who married Richard Rogers abt 1747 . They lived around
Chatham , Harwich. Ma. I find his death in 1761 from drowning when a boat he was on capsized . Have
not been able to locate where he is buried (his body was found) . Would
like to know who Sarah's parents were. I have not been able to uncover
anything on her , she could have remarried also since her children were still
young, the oldest being Gideon .Any information will be great.

I am looking for information on a "J. L. Higgins" who lived in Chicago, IL and would have been late teens early 20's around 1904-1907. I found your website while researching him on the internet. He was a suitor of my grandmother's and gave her many
beautifully drawn cartoons, in ink. She kept a scrapbook and his drawings were placed in there. I am not sure if his first name was
James or Joseph. Have you found anyone in your research which could be him? I'd just like to know what became of him. My grandmother married another man and then moved to New England.
Thank you for your time,
Beth Coughlin Contact Beth

Do you have further detail pertaining to Col. William Higgins who commanded the 2'nd Regmt TN Mtd Volunteers during the War of 1812? I would like to verify whether or not he may be the same William Higgins who moved to Wilson Co. TN from Patrick Co. VA. His father,
John Higgins was a Rev. War Vet. The area of Wilson Co. they settled in is now part of Cannon County, TN. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Ann Higgins is my g-grandmother b. 1824 IRE d. 1896 Cleveland, OH.. She married Luke Grace but I do not know
the date or location of their marriage - it may have been in Ireland or in the USA. I have not found a marriage record.
They started their family in 1853 in Cleveland, Ohio and remained until their deaths.
The Naturalization record of Luke Grace says he arrived from Ireland to
the USA in 1846 but I have never found a record of when Ann Higgins
arrived in the USA.
In 1867 there was a Cleveland property deed selling land from John Higgins to Ann(e) Grace. I do not know if John Higgins was related to Ann
or if the last name was a coincidence. In 1863 & 1866 there were two
other deed transfers to the names John & Mary Higgins. Could these have
been Ann's parents or a brother?
No documents of Luke & Ann or the census of 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900 ever
indicated a county in Ireland that they came from. I have the written last will of Ann (Higgins) Grace but no Higgins family names are
mentioned. My brick wall has prevented me from finding where Ann came from in
Ireland.
Any suggestions?

Payton (Paton) Higgins
I just started tracing my Higgins ancestors and would like more information on
Peyton (Paton as spelled in the 1880 Indiana* census), born in Indiana in 1840 and
died in 1920 in Texas. He was married to Matilda (Hammer or
Hamner), 1840 - 1926. They're my great great grandparents.
Peyton's family was from Tennessee and Virginia and his wife's was from Virginia.
Their son, Harison (Harry), 1876 - 1918(?) was my great grandfather. He was married to
Edith Haney. They had 2 sons - Cameron Austin and Ernest
(Higgins).
Both generations went from Indiana to Kansas and ended up in Wharton, Texas.
Thank you for any help.
