The picture above may possibly be the same house that is in the one below on the left. If so, the picture dates to before 1910.   It is not in very good shape but is included here as a historical picture.

The first 2 pictures above were taken early in the 1900's.  They show an early McNally house which burnt and was replaced by the house in the other pictures.  The next 2 pictures were found in a book by Isabel Louise Hill, Fredericton, New Brunswick, British North America. The two pictures were dated 1961. She described them in the following way:  "View from the highway, towards the River St. John of barns and outbuildings of darkened shingles, all in splendid condition. The original homestead, on the St. John River was destroyed by fire in 1910 and rebuilt." (see first 2 pictures above)

This photograph is thought to be a picture of the basement of the original house after the 1910 fire. A wood stove can be seen resting on the basement floor.

The first 2 pictures of this row show spring flooding at McNally's Ferry.  Because of the bend in the river at this location flooding was a problem each spring.  The 3rd picture shows a typical winter scene. The six pictures below are from the slide collection of my great uncle, Don McNally. They all portray McNally's Ferry of the early 1960's. The barns below were moved to a new location due to the flooding that was caused by the building of the Mactaquac Dam downriver.  The homestead was torn down.
