Third Generation

40. Photo Conrad Joseph (Joe) MOGEN was born on Jul 14, 1942 in Webster, SD. After military service, Joe graduated from Northern State Univ in Aberdeen. He worked for the State of South Dakota in Pierre for three years before returning to NSU as the Assistant Business Manager. In 1977 the family moved to Mitchell, SD where Joe was the Business Manager at Dakota Wesleyan University for the next two years.

In 1979 the family moved to Moose Lake, MN where they purchased and managed a Coast to Coast hardware store for the next twenty-four years. The store was very successful for many years, but demographic and economic changes in the late 90's and early 2000's forced them to liquidate and close the store in October of 2003.

After over 25 years, Moose Lake has become our home. So we continue to live here, Joe doing volunteer work at our church, in the community and with the National Ski Patrol at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN where he has served since 1990.

Conrad Joseph (Joe) MOGEN and Lily Fay (Lee) EIDET were married on Jun 27, 1965 in Lebanon Lutheran Church, Blooming Valley, Grant County, SD. Photo Lily Fay (Lee) EIDET (daughter of Henry EIDET and Mavone Charlote OWEN) was born on Nov 20, 1943 in Watertown, SD. Lee grew up in Blooming Valley Township, rural Ortley, SD. She attended country school, one of her teachers was Helen Dorsett, wife of Joe's cousin Calvin. After grade school, she attended Augustana Academy, a Lutheran residential high school in Canton, SD. Lee graduated from St Olaf College in Northfield, MN earning a BS degree in Nursing.

Over the years, Lee has taught Pediatric Nursing at an LPN school in Pierre, SD, in an RN program at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD and has been a Geriatric Nurse since 1989.

Lee has always been involved in music, both piano and organ. She was an active church musician in all the communities we have lived in, and has been the organist at Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake since 1981. She was called upon to play for church when she was 12 years old, so she has been a church musician for over 50 years! Helen Mogen was one of her early music teachers. Conrad Joseph (Joe) MOGEN and Lily Fay (Lee) EIDET had the following children:
