Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost
HIS savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for
nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
1. YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH.
A. JESUS IS SPEAKING TO KINGDOM PEOPLE: YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE
EARTH (SPEAKING TO ALL OF GOD'S CHILDREN).
1. NOT CONDITIONAL: WE ARE THE SALT: WE ARE KINGDOM PEOPLE
2. BEAUTITUDES:
A. SAYS BLESSED OR HAPPY (INWARD CONDITION)
1. EXTREMELY HAPPY
2. jESUS SAID; I HAVE COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE
AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.
3. VERSE 13 JESUS IS SPECIFYING TO KINGDOM PEOPLE THE RESULTS
OF BEING BLESSED OR HAPPY. (YOU ARE SALT IN THE EARTH)
A. BLESSED ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD BECAUSE OF YOUR
PRESENCE.
B. SALT IS A PERSERVATIVE, SALT GIVES FLAVOR, AND SALT HAS
HEALING PROPERTIES.
1. EVERYONE IN JESUS'S DAY KNEW THE VALUE OF SALT.
2. WITHOUT SALT LIFE COULD NOT CONTINUE.
3. MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD OR SILVER
4. MEAT COULD NOT ENDURE
5. OLD TESTAMENT TIMES-SACRIFICES WERE SPRINKLED WITH
SALT-IT WAS FOR PURIFICATION AND PERSERVATION.
A. IT WAS THE SALT OFFERING

GOVERNMENTS FOR CENTURIES.
3. THINK ABOUT THIS WORLD WITHOUT KINGDOM PEOPLE
A. EVIL WOULD HAVE DESTROYED THIS WORLD LONG AGO.

5. SALT GIVES FLAVOR TO FOOD

1. KINGDOM PEOPLE MUST BE HELPING AND TELLING ABOUT
JESUS.
D. SALT CREATES THIRST.
1. KINGDOM PEOPLE ARE TO CREATE SPIRITUAL THIRST
6. SALT HAS HEALING PROPERTIES

B. KINGDOM PEOPLE HAVE A HEALING MESSAGE

7. YOU ARE THE SALT. SALT PERSERVES, SALT GIVES A BETTER
QUALITY OF LIFE AND SALT HEALS.

SALTY IN THE EARTH. LOOSING INFLUENCE. BECOMING MORE LIKE
THE WORLD.
1. HOW DOES SALT LOOSE ITS SAVOR?
A. BY BEING MIXED WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS.
B. CHRISTIANS CAN LOOSE THEIR SAVOR BY BECOMING WORLDLY
LIGHT OF THE WORLD 1
Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on
an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
1. NOT CONDITIONAL WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. WE ARE TO BE
SHINING EXAMPLES TO THE WORLD-NOT HID-ON TOP OF HILL OR UNDER

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life.
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness.
1Thess 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the
day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

HEAVEN.

6 That ye may with one mind [and] one mouth glorify God, even
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

16 Yet if [any man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be
ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
Revelation 15:4
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for
[thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship
