HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

Bible Text: Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled
the people before Moses, and said, Let us go
up at once, and possess it: For we are well
able to overcome it.
1. Caleb believed what God had said: 8 other
   spies did not.
2. Caleb and Joshua said: God is with us we
   can take the land
3. Results:  40 years in Wilderness
   QUESTION: Can we take our land? The world?
    Answer is NO. How long will we spend in
    the Wilderness?

   John  20:21  Then said Jesus to them
      again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my]
      Father hath sent me, even so send I
      you.
      22  And when he had said this, he
      breathed on [them], and saith unto
      them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
4. Jesus told Nicodemus:  must be born again
   A. Born physically, born spiritually
   B. Here Apostles born spiritually
   C. Breathed on-Alludes to first man Adam
      1. First man eternal-but fell
      2. Breathed on Apostles-became eternal
5. Were the Apostle ready to be sent out and
   take the Land?  The Answer NO!
   Notice: It is one thing to be born of the
   Spirit and to be baptized with Holy Spirit
   A. These precious men had:
      1. Gone to greatest theological
         seminary -Greatest Teacher
      2. Seen mighty miracles-Lazurus-Blind-
         A. Witnessed the mighty resurrection
         B. You would have thought that they
            were readly to take the Land,
            turn the world upside down for
            Jesus.
         c. Jesus said No

   Luke  24:49  And, behold, I send the
      promise of my Father upon you: but
      tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,
      until ye be endued with power from on
      high.

   Acts 1:4  And, being assembled together
      with [them], commanded them that they
      should not depart from Jerusalem, BUT
      WAIT for the PROMISE OF THE FATHER,
      which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
      5  For John truly baptized with water;
      but ye shall be BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY
      GHOST not many days hence.

6.  John The Baptist said this:
    Mt. 3:11  I indeed baptize you with water
    unto repentance: but he that cometh after
    me is mightier that I, whose shoes I am
    not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you
    with the HOLY SPIRIT and with FIRE.

7.  Apostles Needed the baptism of HS to be
    empowered to do his work
    A. They were Gods Children, Saved, but
       now must receive HS Baptism.

8.  Can we take our Land-the
    World? NO.
9.  UNLESS: We are empowered from on High.
    A. Unless we are baptized with the HS.
10. Do we want to be empowered?
    Do we want to be revived?
    Do we want to take our Land?
