KNIGHT FAMILY TREE

I searched and searched for this line of my family. It was truely one of my biggest brick walls. I found out that my great great grandmother's middle name was KNIGHT from her funeral records several years ago but that was all I could find about her. I wasn't really sure if Knight was her mother's maiden name or not untill a few weeks ago when I found her death certificate newly placed online, where it says her father was Richard P. Cumming and her mother was Mary Knight. Once I found that everything came tumbling in.
It all went well untill I got to Isaac Knight I. Several of the family trees online have Isaac as a son of Giles Knight. Well, I tried that and he just didn't fit there somehow. I get this feeling most of the time when a person fits naturally into a genealogy niche and Isaac just wasn't making me feel it as a son of either Giles' Knight, might be a cousin or brother but as yet that can't be proven either sooooo. I began searching and reading. So far I like this scenario best.
John and Mary Lane Carver came to this country with William Pemm on his first ship the "Welcome". A few days after they arrived Mary gave birth in a cave beside the Delaware River to the first child born of Penn's colony in the New World, Mary Carver born 28 Oct 1682.
Elizabeth Shorter arrived in Abington from London with her grandson Isaac Knight in 1684. Isaac was about 17 years old. This just sets the stage, believe me there is more. Yes they do marry in 1699, Mary is only 16 and Isaac about 32. Theirs is a story of loyalty, struggle, treason, heartache and loss. It is very much a part of the "Neverending Story" of the building of our family and our nation. And so it continues.
