Heading east from Coeur d'Alene, turn south on Hwy #3 and continue till you reach Doyle Rd. Take a right and you will see the cemetery on your right in a very short time.

The first burial in Rose Lake cemetery was the Anderson child in 1906. It has been used since then. Each family taking care of their own plots. It has a forest setting, which they all chose, nestled in family groups in the cleared out areas of the cemetery. They were working on a new section when I was there.

This community cemetery is taken care of by all of the community. Each year they make plans to do a cleanup and make any changes. Some of the older records are missing. If you have any information about these, contact Lawrence Hoiland at the above number.

The town of Rose Lake is no more, so the mail is addressed as Cataldo, but the community still exists and are very close, still calling it Rose Lake.

Some years back, all the cemetery records came up missing. The present group are working at platting it out and making sure where there are burials. They trying to make a new map and record all they know. All the burials may never be known unless the old records show up one day.

Entries with an asterisk * are from family later and there was no headstone when I was there, or received new names from the sexton.
Entries followed by ** are those who died in town of Rose Lake, no cemetery was listed.

I surveyed the cemetery on Sep 04, 2001 and again on Apr 22, 2005. Records are up to date as of Jun 11, 2010 from additional sexton records.
