First I will that James my son immediately after my decease shall have and possess my tenement called
Little Barfield with all the lands pertaining thereto with all the appertuances lying and being in the
foresaid Parish of Tilmanstone and all my woodland lying and being in the Parish of Womenswold to
him and to his heirs of his body lawfully begotten.
And if he die without heirs of his body lawfully begotten then I will that John my son
shall have the said lands to him and to his said heirs of his body lawfully begotten.
And if it happen my said John to die without heirs of his body lawfully begotten
then I will that Thomas my son shall have it to him and to his heirs of his body lawfully begotten.
And if Thomas die without heirs of his body lawfully begotten then I will that my son John the younger
shall have the said lands in him and to his heirs of his body lawfully begotten
and if it happen my said John the younger to die without heirs of his body lawfully begotten
then I will that Edward my son shall have the said lands to him and to his heirs of his
body lawfully begotten.
And if he die without heirs then I will that Gelayne(?) my daughter shall have the said
lands to her and to her heirs of her body lawfully begotten
and if Gelayne die without heirs of her body lawfully begotten then to Chrystns
and to her heirs of her body lawfully begotten.
And if she die without heirs of her body lawfully begotten then I will that Johane my
daughter shall have the said lands to her and to her heirs of her body lawfully begotten.
Also I will that John my son the elder shall ? my marsh lands lying and being
in the Parish of Worth to him and to his heirs of his body lawfully begotten.
And if he die ? without heirs of his body lawfully begotten then to Thomas and to his heirs of
his body lawfully begotten.
And if he die then to John the younger and to his heirs of body lawfully begotten.
This always provided that any of my children both male and female shall succeed and be there ?
as well of lands as of Montables(?). Witness at this present testament and last will.
