Item to Joshua my eldest son I give the house wherein I now dwell with all the gardens backsides outhouses and all other the appertuances thereunto belonging. Item to John and Edward my other two sons I give all my messuages or tenements situate and lying in Motesole(?) in the Parish of St Mary in Sandwich aforesaid with all the orchards gardens backsides and appertuances whatsoever to the same belonging to be divided equally between them and if either of my said sons John or Edward shall depart this life without any issue then my mind and will is that the other of the lands tenements or messuage or fourth part of the share of him so dying or departing this life shall discend and remain and wholly be to the survivor of them two my said three sons paying to Katherine my now wife the yearly sum of forty pounds Sterling out of the said messuage or tenements for her ? during her life.
Item my mind and will is that all my goods and chattels real and personal shall be in best and most ? in time (according to the discretion of my Executors) sold to the most profit and my debts and funeral expenses being first thereat paid and discharged shall then the rest of that money remaining to be equally distributed and divided amongst my three daughters Sara, Elizabeth and Mary. And if any of them depart this life before they be married then I will that the part or portion of her or them so dying or departing this life shall be equally divided between the survivors of her or them so living or if not then wholly to ? the survivor. And I will the portion which shall fall to my said daughters be paid to them when they shall come unto their several ages of eighteen years or to the survivor or survivors of them.
And of this my present last Will
and Testament I make and ordain Joshua Fordage my Father in Law sole Executor and on the execution
of the same I make and ordain John Jacob of Sandwich aforesaid Jurat overseer.

Esquire late whiles he lived Mayor of the Town and Port of Sandwich in the County of Kent deceased
by him made and declared (being of perfect mind and memory) not long before he died with a mind
and intent that it should be added to his said executed and accomplished as part and parcel thereof as
followeth or the very like made in effect and substance ? so gave and bequeathed to Catherine Denn his
wife all such household stuff as he brought him at the time of her marriage. Witness hereunto
