In the name of God Amen The eleventh day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God 1626 in the second yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God King of England, Scotland, ffrance & Ireland defender of the faith etc I Magdalen Denne of Deale in the County of Kent widdow being sicke in body but in perfect & good momory I praise God do make & ordaine this my last will & testament in manner & forme following
First I give & bequeath my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my creatour & most mercifull redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Deale aforesaid so neere the body of Richard Allen my late husband as possibly may be

Itm I give & bequeath to John Allen my said late husbands nephew twenty pounds in gold ...? now lying by me. And my two best gold rings to be delivered to him at his age of one & twenty yeares, or at such time as his father (if he be so disposed) shall by him an apprentice
Itm I give & bequeath to Thomas Master of Deale aforesaid Esquire my ???all ring of gold
Itm I give & bequeath to my ....? Jane Thorowgood of Deale one gold ring with a true lovers knot thereon
Itm I give & bequeath to Timothy Winter of Deale one hoope ring of gold now fastened to the parte wherein the said twenty pound in gold now is
Itm I give & bequeath to the aforesaid John Allen my said late husband Richard Allen his best cloake
Item I give & bequeath to John Allen father of the aforenamed John Allen my late husband Thomas Denne his best mate & one suite of his apparrell

Itm all the rest of my goods, my debts, legacies funeral charges & my ....? expenses so allowed I give & bequeath to the said John Allen to be delivered to him at his age of one and twenty yeares
And of this my last will & testament I make and ordaine the aforesaid Thomas Master & Timothy Winter and either of them my Executors
Itm I give & bequeath to Elizabeth ffile my maid servant fowre shillings, upon condition that she loke carefully to all my goods & throughly acquaint my ...? with the same
Itm I give & bequeath to Vincent Denne of Sandowne Castle all such money as was due to my late husband Thomas Denne for his service in the said castle at his death
Itm I give & bequeath to William Mullett my said late husbands brother in law my said husbands gowne

Magdalen Denne, widow of fisherman Thomas Denne who was her second husband.
She was buried at St Leonards, Deal on 13 December 1626.
