In the name of God Amen the 13th day of April and Reign of King Henry the 7th the 13th and in the year of our Lord God 1499, I John A�Denne of the Parish of Bredgar in my good and whole mind make my testament in this wise. First I bequeath my Soul to God Almighty to our Lady Saint Mary and to all the Holy Company of Heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Bredgar. Also I bequeath to the ? of Bredgar aforesaid for my forgotten tithes 6d.
The residue of all my goods unbequeathed my debts and my bequests paid I give and bequeath to Johane my wife to dispose for my Soul and all ? ? as she thinks best.
Also I make and ordain as Executors of this my testament the said Johane my wife and Robert Heneacre her brother.
This is the last will of me John A�Denne of the Parish of Bredgar aforesaid made the day and year above written.
First I will that Henry my son shall have the house and lands lying and being in the Parishes of Bredgar aforesaid and Stockbury to him and to his heirs and his assigns forever except my parcels of land and the nether dene of Witerest and ? the which three parcels of land I will that Thomas my son shall have to him and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Also I will that Henry and Thomas my said sons shall pay each of them to Johane my wife out of all the said lands every year during her life 10s a ? a quarter of barley and half a quarter of wheat quarterly to be paid by even portions at four times the year during my said wife�s Johanes life.
Also I will that Johane my said wife shall have a chamber in the upper end of my said house for term of her life with going and coming ? and ? at all lawful ? and her easement if for within the said house where ? it be.
Also I will that the said ? and ? sons shall keep or do to be kept in ? of ? year that as to understand each of the ? during the term of five years in the said church of ? for to pray for my soul my wife�s soul and all souls.
And I will that the said ? shall begin ? month next after my said wifes� decease and no son ?
